Laying on that hospital bed for 5 days and just journaling absolutely gave me some perspective on what really matters in life. I got to watch Thai families interact with their sick loved ones - and while I couldn't understand their vocal language, the body language displayed and loving affection displayed by everyone said so much.
It truly was a beautiful sight to behold - and while I was sad that I was alone in a foreign country (by my own choice, I know) - I was glad that I got to witness this beautiful interaction.
There was one specific instance of an elderly couple - probably in their 80's - the husband had surgery (looks like he had burned his leg pretty bad and they did a graft) - but his wife was so dedicated and loyal, it was absolutely beautiful. She was there day in and day out - washing his body, making him smile and laugh, tiger balming his feet, sitting by his bed side, just being with him. It was such a beautiful display of love that lasts even when beauty fades - true love - the sort that most of us wish we end up finding one day.
It really made me appreciate a lot of things that I currently have in life, and it was really something beautiful to watch.
Hey there @fatpandadesign, hope things are improving for you.
