How did I started Crochet

in #crochet3 years ago (edited)

At the beginning...
There was nothing...
Know nothing about this art...

Until...

I was 22 when I first seen Crochet works. I was working back then and I have this colleague of mine who is doing something on the yarn. She is using a piece of metal and is twisting the yarn with it and i was really surprised to see what she made out of it!

Yes, it was LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT! I immediately went to the market and look for a yarn seller and hook. But, i had problems...

First, i only see thin yarn...
Second, a yarn that is used for notebooks...

They are not the type of yarn i was wanting to use for my first project but there is nowhere to see more yarns...

I came home bringing these two types of yarns and started learning.
I can say, it was not easy at the beginning. My hands and fingernails were stiff and i couldn't make the hook and yarn follow me. But, with continues practice, patience and love for it, I was able to make it!

Cellphone Pouch was the very first Crochet Item i made. You cannot imagine how happy i was seeing the finished item! You know, when you do things for the first time, i felt devastated because i cannot make it long looking straight! It's either it get wide all of a sudden or it get smaller as i go my way up. And you know how the story goes, you have to FROG it! Oh my!

Here are 3 Crochet Items i found from my Gallery. They were made at the year of 2015. They are always with me in the office. My favorite was the MAKE-UP POUCH!

I even hand sewn a fabric inside!

And here are the other 2! One is for my Tumbler and the other one is also a little String Pouch that i also use for my Make-up...

So, there you have it! I am so proud of making these crochet items. But sadly, i do not have any of these two anymore huhuhu...

I have used them for so long and they have been very good to me...
I am thinking of making Sling Bag for myself in the future when i have more time...

What do you think of my first Crochet projects?
Could i see yours?

Love,
@dollayah
