This is an expansion on the ideas I started to share yesterday in I can’t…stop…blogging!
“Don’t you ever get bored of writing?”
No. Never. Not even a little.
I might get mentally tired from too much thought and consideration but I never feel bored writing and I never run out of ideas. The world is so big (and small) and has so many patterns to find and connections to make and things to try. There is no way I could possibly get bored because I’m always aware of this.
Hive has become a daily exercise of creativity, self exploration and self improvement.
The first question I ask myself when I get ready to write is “What’s on my mind today?”
Then, whatever it is, rather than just share it as it is, I think about how I can make it more interesting and valuable for others. This is one that way I challenge myself. The idea behind my blogs is always to become a better writer and storyteller, or a better speaker when I make my 3speak vlogs.
I’m not just following some plan laid out by others to get better at this. I’m experimenting and searching for my own voice. There are many topics I could talk about, but how do I build congruency between all of them and feel more and more natural expressing my ideas about them?
“I can speak about ———, but can I speak about it with confidence?”
“I spoke about —- before but was there something I missed? Is there something everybody misses?”
I always look for ways to write better. Sometimes I look back at something I wrote and say “I can do better than this. I can make it more interesting or profound”.
“If you are bored, it’s because you are boring.”
Those are the words of my grandma, one of the coolest people I know. At 86 she went parasailing 3 times 🪂 and at 88 she came to Tokyo and tried every single food, smoked shisha for the first time and went to a rock concert.
If an interesting topic doesn’t come to me right away, I look at what’s not interesting and think about how to make it interesting.
This has led me to some of my best writing and also some of my most enjoyable silly posts. I wrote a poem about mud, a job application to the community for a job as a full time content creator, narrated myself people watching in real time, and accidentally fueled a revolution against the bidbot scams of steemit circa 2018.
Sometimes I search for ways to introduce topics that I think my readers WON’T be interested and try to make them interested in them.
Trying to talk about video games as meditation or treating financial markets to something akin to astrology are the ones that come to mind first. Giving a movie review that ends up being a self directed psychoanalysis, that also happened.
When all else fails, I just freestyle and let whatever comes out come out. I can always go back and edit, but when I’m in this mode, I usually don’t.
There is so much to explore inside of you and your 5 senses. There is no reason to run out of things to say, it’s just a matter of having the will to say it and then letting everything flow.
You always have the backspace button, so there’s no reason to hold back.
Big thanks to @kemmyb for making me realize I had more to share on yesterday’s topic

Sounds like me with art :D
Or at least with the two massive projects I've got with a lot of endless things to do XD
It's pretty cool that you can get inspiration from everywhere and keep things flowing :)
You guys have been a massive inspiration for me too...just hanging out in the chat and sticking around. I realized this is the source of my (our?) energy, and I wanna plant those seeds everywhere so we never get tired.
I feel like your grandma is personally attacking me 😪🙈🤣
Hahahah I'm in love with my comment section this week, but this one may take the cake! I get it though
I like this sentence you wrote.
Just like me, but a little different from you. if you never get tired of writing. I will never get tired of photographing whatever I see with my camera. And I always carry my camera with me wherever I go. And it will never lose the idea of getting objects. Sometimes when I'm at home, I use whatever objects are in the house to create my photographic work.
That's why your photographs are so nice :-D The best work comes from passion. Even if we are not satisfied with the results, it always gets better and better. I am happy you keep shooting away. I hope one day that I'm drawn to visuals like photography or design, but for now, it's storytelling and music.
i never get bored at all. There is always something super-interesting to do, or read, or watch. i'm quite new to writing, or at least new to writing consistently. And now i'm experimenting with some poetry and free-style writing, and being raw and open with what i write about, i'm enjoying it a lot. i'm getting good unsolicited feedback from family and friends who i sometimes send links of my posts to. It bugs me a bit that they're not on Hive so see them anyway, but que sera sera!
So much to explore, enjoy it!
I'm coming to terms with the fact that I can't push people to join....BUT I found two tricks to making them more likely to join. The first is that I never imply that they should but I share blogs with them (mine or whoever's are relevant). The second is that I mention all the cool stuff I do and find here, and the cool people I meet here, and occasionally the crazy payout I have, without bragging of course.
This is inspiring, as always! I have seen more than three quotable quotes that I could write on from this post!
This is IT for me!
When you put it this way, I agree that a person cannot be bored or out of things to write about unless you don't want to write at all.
Agreed, the world is large and Hive gives room for "daily exercise of creativity, self exploration and self improvement."... It's left to a person who desires to be a better writer or a 'holistic' one (as you put it) to experiment, keep the wheels of his/her mind rolling and improve on his/her style.
Btw, your grandma is the coolest! 😄 She did all that at 86 and 88? She's a bundle of wisdom.
My grandma has the wisdom of a child. She just never grew up. When my grandfather was alive, she gave all her attention to him, as he was a very overwhelming and demanding person and she was too weak to stand up for herself, but once he passed (sad as we all were), I got to see who she really was. There's a new idea for a post, you did it again ;-) Your comments are one of my lovely feedback loops, thank you <3
😄 You are welcome, again! When your grandfather passed, I believe it was time for your grandma to spread her wings and fly! And I'm glad she did!
Sometimes, I feel life is too short to express ourselves fully. That's why I try to make the most of every moment, if I can! I'd love to read about your grandma. 😊
My problem with writing is I start a post and get distracted by something else and never get back to it. I have quite a few of those. Some of them are evergreen though so time doesn't really exist for them. Some of them are just inklings. Some are crazy ideas I wrote down and have no idea now where they were going.
I've also played around with AI generated stuff for inspiration and entertainment and to understand how it works and its limitations. I think it's important to be aware of what's coming. There will come a day when it will be impossible to distinguish AI and human writing. Actually, that day is already here for certain topics. I think this has some implications for Hive going forward.
So some of my half done posts are partially AI generated, as the rest of this will be after this paragraph.
Like this one. Sometimes I'll take a stab at making the AI's interact intelligently but fail miserably. "hey go fetch this for me boss." Sometimes the AI will function exactly as you'd expect but I'll have my mind on something else and have totally missed what they're doing. Like this one. "Hey buddy come and get that thing for me boss." "I'm busy boss I don't have time." "well come on what's taking so long?" "I'm sorry I'm so busy boss." "Oh that's alright." And now my brain went 'Whaaat? What did I miss? Well that'll teach me to stop what I'm doing and come over and help him out."
The writing is done in a couple of different styles. The first is for when I'm stuck, when I don't know how to go on with the story. The other is for if I feel like I need to show what I'm feeling, or my inner workings, or my perspective on things. Neither are generally my strongest points but hopefully they'll do the job for you. They can be a little confusing at first, so we'll just go through each one and I'll explain it. I hope it helps.
I was doing alright before you got here. (From now on this is the english style. If you don't understand what I'm talking about, just leave a comment below and I'll be happy to explain it to you.) He got it out of his pocket and put it on. One look and he'd already noticed a crack. His first thought was to try to repair it, to try and find a piece that would fit. But he didn't have time for that, even if it was his only way of doing something about it. He needed to get to work. So he walked around to the back of the cab and grabbed a six pack of beer, just out of habit. He was about to turn it over in his hand, open the cap, and take a swig when he noticed a piece of paper underneath. He picked it up and it fell to the floor. He picked it up and folded it up before he sat it on the console. I want to be with you. The fact that this wasn't a love note (he'd never done that for her) or anything he wrote didn't make him feel any less guilty. He put the beer on the console and opened the door. He got in, made sure the beer was secure, and started the car. He wasn't getting far.
Lol WHAT just happened! Did you get that Tesla implant?
Nah, nothing that sophisticated yet. Just https://app.inferkit.com/demo. Try typing in some joke prompts there. I just tried "A Bitcoin maximalist walks into a bar" and it came up with this:
hahahahah I think AI is going to take out comedians first
Or comedians will be the first to merge. I think Joe Rogan is at the front of the line.
There is so much to explore inside of you and your 5 senses
Can't agree with you more. Some days I just wish we had 28 hours instead of 24. Lol
I never run out of ideas as well.
28 hours! Not enough!!! hahaha Although it probably would be just right. I always feel I am choosing between studying or creating/working or relaxing. I think an extra 4 hours would be enough to fit it all in
