Christmas season is all about give, love, hope but not crowdfunding.
When you think about Christmas you definitely think about a time to give back and a time to be charitable. Yes indeed it is. People love to give time, gift, money…they like to donate but…
Christmas is not a good time for crowdfunding.
First of all it’s a time to spend with the family so less time spent on Internet. Except maybe on Amazon, Ebay...
Second, people like to donate during this season, but truth is they like to actually give to homeless people directly or give to NGO’s representatives located in the street or in the Christmas Market. Basically they would rather give instantly and directly instead of going on a platform and then choose a project.
Third, people would actually spend a lot of money on gifts already. Christmas is a time for the family first, so people would rather give a LOT to the family instead of NGO’s or associations or charity projects etc.
Advice.
For the projects that’ve been launched before Christmas, don’t worry it’s a little bit slower now but it should skyrocket again after the year end holidays.
Still what you can do as a project founder?
-Keep on updating,
-don’t forget to do the season’s greetings,
-relax a little bit,
-prepare the next year strategy,
-Talk about your project to your family and relatives,
-Make a retrospective of the last year, what you've done, what you've achieved, where have you failed, what have you learned from the failure, advance.
For the founders who want to launch a project now…wait a minute…you should wait up to around 3rd January to launch BUT avoid to launch a project on Saturday and Sunday because the traffic around Internet would be slow during these 2 days. So maybe you should launch your project on the 7th January.
What you can do while waiting for the year end holidays to pass?
-Read again your proposal,
-Show the proposal to your family and relatives,
-Brainstorm the goal again,
-Who could actually donate to my project in the first 2 days,
-Ask yourself this question: Am I ready?
By the way...
