mouth works for holding the knife but to wield it you would want to go with tail leaving your eyes clear for targeting

Well there are venomous fangs in the mouth, why would she want to block those useful tools? Be dangerous on the front and the back.

Since it’s a “she,” she’s probably thought this out way in advance and determined that the best option is to use her tail so she can use her fangs to strike as a alternate backup (or to keep talking incessantly to anyone who will listen). If it was a “he,” no knife would be used as they’d probably just talk it out and then go for a beer and become friends.
