I answered
Initiator
All my life, throughout my childhood, my schooling, my marriage, my career, people tried to tell me what to do. That never sat too well with me. One day at work last year, when it got too personal, I finally realized I’d had enough. I gave two weeks’ notice, packed up my beautiful paintings...that were deemed “unprofessional” in a ridiculously sterile, recently downsized reception area (my fifth re-assignment there in three and one-half years) and I retired. (In contrast, my seven team members were all encouraged to enhance their much larger, more attractive and modern spaces with personal items while I, the only artist, was told to take my personal items home.) It took 50 years but now I’m finally free of the bullshit. I’d say that in that moment of clarity I became an initiator.
