I'm not a fan of Uber, based primarily on the poor treatment of their workers (and the ongoing arguments about their employment status), cases of sexual assault going unreported etc. I also know some people who drive the traditional black cabs in London so I am biased.
Now the company's co -founder wants to launch his own cryptocurrency. Garret Camp wants to launch a coin that is more energy efficient and more secure than Bitcoin with faster transaction times... Mainstream newspeak... I wonder if Mr Camp has bothered checking out other coins that are already available.
So basically he wants to launch a lite crypto with user friendly apps, billed as a digital cash alternative and with verified nodes running the system thereby losing anonymity and increasing supervision. Hmmm....
I guess this sort of middle path was bound to happen, things do need simplifying for mass adoption and they'll use their marketing might to help it succeed.
And lets face it, as they are going to give away 500 billion tokens to the first billion verified users (yes first billion) we're all going to end up with some aren't we?
