Hi mate, just one info I found on their website : "The EOS Tokens do not have any rights, uses, purpose, attributes, functionalities or features, express or implied, including, without limitation, any uses, purpose, attributes, functionalities or features on the EOS Platform."
So it looks quite different from Ethereum since in ETH is used to do every computations a smart contract is asking.
I don't see the EOS token intrinsic value.

Not to be hella late, but this is because the blockchain isn't running yet. EOS tokens just placeholders.
