Japanese giant Rakuten has announced its mobile payment app will be released in early March with the app supporting payments in both cryptocurrencies and fiat.
Rakuten is a giant in Japan with it offering all kinds of services online like movie rentals to products, the move will be huge as cryptocurrencies are regularly accepted and spent in both Japan and South Korea this could help Bitcoin out of the bear market.
The move comes after Rakuten bought Japanese crypto-exchange “Everybody’s Bitcoin” in mid-2018 for $2.4 Million, The company already accepts Bitcoin on the American portal of Rakuten.com but this move brings optimism to the air that they will offer cryptocurrencies to their biggest market.
I think the move from Rakuten is amazing and puts the crypto-space in a good place, once the bigger cooperations accept and work alongside Bitcoin the stronger the community will get and become more legitimized.
