Great message on the family element. I spent an hour telling my brother's girlfriend about blockchain, bitcoin, eth, and steemit from scratch today post Thanksgiving. By the end, the rest of my family gathered around for my lecture. My Mom is 70 and has traded her ETH (owned since the Summer) better than I have. She's doubled her very profitable position in this time, and is now storing her coins on Exodus on her own. It's crazy to think that she who doesn't know anything about computers or technology can do this with ease. She just trusts my rational advice after I learned how to ignore price back in early July. I told her to give ETH to my brother and sister for Christmas since it'll be better for them in the long run.
I'm also writing emails to friends, encouraging everyone I know, trying what I can to help people get involved. Trying to convince people to take a step, even if it's a leap of faith, isn't easy because people look at a chart and think it's too expensive. It's hard to break that mental barrier, but I try to stress that the upside is far too great to sit on the sidelines more. I hope I can convince more. After all the bugging I've done, only 3 people total have trusted me to get involved. It feels like I'm failing people by not getting them to see the light. I don't want them to be priced out and chasing, just to experience a correction and sell off in disgust, blaming me.
On the bright side - I brought one friend in this spring who is now LOADED with 100% free crypto and tons of TH of mining that will have his life changed as crypto advances. If it doesn't, it's all a free ride at low risk. He now has about double my position, which is nuts for his time in the market, but it just shows the power of getting involved as soon as you can. It's crazy how well you can do when you diversify, don't panic sell, and add passive crypto income streams. Any losses were from panic sells "manually realizing a loss", but if you just HOLD and accumulate, you win.
99% of the initial inspiration and guidance has come from YOU and a tiny handful of other vloggers. Thank you very much, sincerely. It's life changing for the new direction and passion in life, on top of a nest egg that I know will pave the way for me for likely the rest of my life.
Been sitting on ETH for a long while back in $7 - $14 land and knew it was totally undervalued. Now I gotta try and figure out if there is a good selling point or to hold on?
