@Ned pointed this out to me, but Cointelegraph used my Steemit is Bitcoin's Killer App analysis as a jumping off point for their article titled Steemit May Become Killer App As It Looks to Draw 1 Mln Bitcoin Users Yearly. Glad I could be helpful, Cointelegraph! Clearly the next logical step is for Olusegun Ogundeji to write about me writing about him writing about me and keep this meta feedback loop alive.

I imagine it's every journalist's dream to quote a pseudonym on the internet about a blockchain based social media network start-up with a straightface and end up writing a sentence like this:

Eeks, in a post on Steemit, wrote that Steemit is the killer app Bitcoin has been waiting for to bring fresh and diverse people into Bitcoin and into cryptocurrencies.

Gibberish to grandparents everywhere.

Here is the excerpt that excerpts me:

The writer says Bitcoin companies and their products do nothing for people outside the one percent who know and use Bitcoin. He cites Purse.io as the closest thing to a Bitcoin killer app to convince those outside the cryptocurency community but, as yet, hasn’t had much luck. The same applies to OpenBazaar, Bitcoin gambling and P2P lending sites, who have not provided a reason for those people to care about Bitcoin or a need to have it, except for speculative purposes.

In an analogy, the writer concluded, based on available figures, that the new social media site could acquire at least a million Bitcoin active onboard users in a year.

“And if it happens as I expect, Steemit will acquire 1 million or more people onboard per year. That's 1 million people becoming more comfortable with crypto, finding it usable and relatable. That's a huge win for Bitcoin and crypto. The value of any cryptocurrency are the people involved and the network effects they bring, all enabled by the underlying technologies and their usefulness. 1 million more active users into the cloistered world of cryptocurrency seems like a valuable breath of fresh air. Steemit, despite not even being a Bitcoin project, looks like it has the potential to be Bitcoin's killer app. Bitcoin holders rejoice.”

PS Steemit is very cool so far and I can't wait to study it more and watch it evolve. I am still looking for any other good data sources on Steemit, reply away, thanks!

You're a luminary. Go eeks! :)

Just look at how many non-tech users Steemit had bought in - It's amazing, no other crypto had been able to pull that off! And certainly not in such a short amount of time.

The old saying in the crypto community about how blockchain technology will be used in apps without many of the users being aware of the underlying tech has gotten true with Steemit!

Will we be seeing banners like this?!?!

I just realized that I drew a squid-like UFO creature around my name in the Snippit like some sort of crop symbol...

Haha that's brilliant! I read the original article and it was well written so it doesn't surprise me they caught that first. :)

Congratulations on going full-meta-inception with a post about a post from your post. I'll be waiting for your next post about this post ;)

I have to go....deeper.

So Exciting!! What a beautiful platform.
Hope your Steem Multiplies by many magnitudes!!

haha, this is how the normal journalist works. Good job eeks. They even mentioned you, thats awesome!

"logical step is for Olusegun Ogundeji to write about me writing about him writing about me and keep this meta feedback loop alive."
You have a beautiful mind.

I'm still waiting on that guy. He's gotta keep this ball rolling.

Thanks for this. a bit to much quoting but still good none the less.

w

Well he was quoting me, only fair that I quote him quoting me, no? ;)

hahah ok ok i guess you have a point xD.

you are really a good analyze @eeks
plz share more your crytocurrency analyze so we can invest on the right time and coin
Best Regard

I think you are onto the root of what makes this an interesting place. I've known about bitcoin for years but frankly as a dweebish non-tech with no real knowledge of what I can even do with crypo (other than buy and sell it) I have been hesitant to get personally involved with any form of the currency even though I can clearly see it's value on a broader level. And that's what all crypo needs is to become more usable for the dweebs out there so that it can actually be used as currency not just for trading.

Steemit have innovative platform...can give a good competition to bitcoin...anyways both coin requires general public adaptation that may take way long time..

I agree, bitcoin has value but isn't for the general public. This has a way to incorporate into real world value. I still wish, and will campaign for, the $ symbol to be replaced with a steem symbol... seems to me it can serve more as a badge without content bias

Nice! Getting a mention in Cointelegraph is good stuff.

I am a "non-tech" user, infact I don't even understand what it means!!🤔😂 Your understanding and influence is nothing short of illuminating; thank you.

I put up a post yesterday if interested in reading that could help "non-tech" people understand. Thanks for being here

Great, I'll check it out! Thanks again
