So today there was Bitcoin news and as the news came out the price dropped below $8000 again.
The news was that the SEC announced that it has rejected a proposed bitcoin ETF submitted by the Winklevos Twins.
The actual application was reviewed twice after an appeal was filed by the Twins.
During the first time the application was looked at the SEC highlighted parts of it as "problematic". The twins addressed those issues supposedly and resubmitted the application which was again rejected.
The main reasons for the rejection were that Bitcoin did not provide safety against manipulation and that the technology didn't provide adequate tools to prevent fraud and money laundering.
There is an SEC Commissioner that wants the ETF approved. Here name is Haster Peirce and this was her tweet after the rejection:
