Theres low volume because ppl are holding btc off line. Many people with coins on exchanges are picking up alts cheap thinking they will pump right after the fork.
Actually There is one other major reason, which I just came to know about. It is the South Korean exchanges which might get shut down, as there govt is trying to regulate. This is the fresh news, and therefore, people of South Korea reacted to it.
