Artificial Intelligence In The World Today
The world is drastically changing as new technologies are invented by the minute, no longer would you see people sitting down for hours performing redundant tasks such as; sending welcome mails to every newbie in the company, assessments and so on. All these and more can be solved by implementing an automated welcome note to all newbie going further to even giving them next steps based on their job description, assessing people just like a human invigilator would, creating schedules based on your work life and alert you when you are not working inline with the schedule. Although these examples are pretty basic we can pretty much sum these up as an AI[link] (artificial intelligence). I'm not talking about simple automation or sending bulk mails, but, operations and activities being performed like it were being done by a human (only avoiding "human error" :) ). Artificial Intelligence finds its strength in performing tasks within its knowledge base, hereby; making work smarter leading to an efficient company and reducing costs leading to making more profits, Im sure Tony Stark gets the picture :) .
Problem Statement
Just as the human mind can be complex, so is AI and implementing it. AI technology is no way near perfection as this would require research and development. These therefore constitutes into problems that can be categorized into three areas;
Data processing - AI requires a large data set to perform tasks, obtaining these data set can be time consuming.
Diverging Tasks - Developing AIs require complex algorithms, although AIs are built on specific areas, it would still require knowledge in other areas related to its specification leading to the need for a large knowledge base.
Computational Costs - Finally, acquiring the technical infrastructure, large data set as well as simulations required by AIs can be quite expensive.
How Effect.AI Solves These Problems
Effect.AI is a decentralized AI network. Okay, this definition seems short and may not be clear enough. To better understand what Effect.AI is about, the solution it proposes will be self explanatory :). Effect.AI is currently embarking on a project called "The Effect Network" which proposes a solution "by creating an open, decentralized network that provides most, if not all the services required for a healthy and accessible Artificial Intelligence market" powered by blockchain.
"The Effect Network is designed to provide a feature complete alternative to services like Amazon Mechanical Turk, Fiverr, OneSpace and Guru.com. It will operate fully on smart contracts deployed on the NEO blockchain."
The EFFECT NETWORK
The Effect Network aims at solving the major problems listed above and more by establishing the following:
Accessibility
Training AI algorithm has never been more accessible and cost effective, through Effect.AI micro-tasking platform "Effect.AI Mechanical Turk (EMT)" users can have access to a large dataset to train their AI algorithm.Accuracy
As regards complexity of AI algorithms and knowledge base, Effect.AI Smart Market (ESM) is an exchange which provides a means of buying and selling information, hereby helping users integrate higher complexities in training their AI algorithm.Performance
Users can efficiently build datasets required to train their AI algorithm through; purchasing services on the ESM or creating micro-tasks on the EMT platform.Interoperability
AI algorithms can truly be decentralized when placed on the blockchain. With services and micro-tasks, AI algorithms can be combined resulting in never seen before capabilities.The Effect Network will be implemented in following phases:
Phase 1 - EFFECT Mechanical Turk (M-Turk)
"Effect M-Turk is a private, decentralized, marketplace for work that (for now) requires human intelligence". It can be illustrated thus, A company or body called "Requesters" creates tasks called "Human Intelligence Tasks (HITs)" required to be completed by workers (i.e, whoever chooses to perform these tasks) on the blockchain, upon completion the workers will be paid by the requesters with Effect.AI Token called EFX.
"These tasks are described and compiled through smart contracts on the blockchain".
The Plus Side
The "micro-tasks" made by requesters are called "Human Intelligence Tasks (HITs)" because they require human intelligence (therefore, human beings), hereby drastically solving the problem of unemployment, Effect M-Turk also proves to be a reliable platform where companies can outsource its data processing requirements and enforce strict compliance through smart contracts, hereby increasing company wide efficiency.
Phase 2 - EFFECT Smart Market
"The Effect.AI Smart Market is a decentralized marketplace where AI algorithms can exchange their services". Simply put, application owners can register on the exchange providing an endpoint where requesters can interact with the application for a certain fee "EFX". This applications are invoked through smart contracts on the blockchain.
The plus side to The Effect.AI Smart Market is that users can enjoy "interoperability" and "access to services".
Phase 3 - EFFECT Power
"Phase 1 and 2 of The Effect Network decentralized the data gathering and usage of AI algorithms". Although the algorithms are still running on centralized servers, the plus side to "The Effect Power" (when fully implemented) is to "distribute the algorithm computation so the algorithms run globally without a single point of failure".
The Effect Network and Beyond
Phase 1 - Effect Force "Decentralized Mechanical Turk (M-Turk)" is being released soon, where users can join and make earnings for completed tasks and companies accomplishing their goals. For the Effect Network to grow and be widely accepted, phase 1 needs to be the main goal of all users (whether requesters or workers) as this phase will be a foundation upon which the other foundations would be built on. A form of governance will also be required, and it can accomplished through the use of Smart contracts and a vote for changes. The vote for changes will be made (for now) by a selection of 51 individuals who will form the Effect Council which comprises of prominent people in the Effect Community proposing and voting for improvements.
Phases 2 and 3 are coming soon, and this would revolutionize the AI market for the better.
The Future
Accessibility to smart algorithms arrived in a better time, where the foreseeable future of AI would no longer be feared as Effect.AI proposes another "good" which AI can be used for. The Effect Network is providing companies and people around the world with a first-class view of the benefits of AI and its endless possibilities.

Questions are quite overwhelming
You mean effect token right? More details on their site. The token sale ended march 28th. Also about purchasing, Effect is still in its first phase so i guess they are still sorting everything out. On exchange... I'll recommend ethereum .. if you read my post on gochain .. for now.. ethereum is leading in speed and operations , which i'm sure is essential. Although i cannot fully vouch for them :)
I think effect roadmap says it all.. it shows they are making sure to get everything right and not rushing into things.. not that I'm discrediting dbc.. but effect.ai is a win for me.
