Could be good. Could be bad. Do you want your identity tracked?
Microsoft and Hyper-ledger have joined block-chain digital identity initiative (the ID2020 Alliance).
Recently announced this project aims to improve peoples lives due to provisions of peoples digital identity's.
The group is focusing on user ability for direct ownership and control through block-chain technology.
The issue is 1.1 billion people cannot seem to prove their online digital identity which leads to the struggle of not being able to access benefits and services.
Human trafficking is also a correlated issue.
The initiative has now received a 1 million dollar donation from Microsoft as well as many other donations.
Are provisions over digital identity's going to improve lives? Or is it an initiative to track whatever move you make next?
If so is Civic a project that hopes to oppose this initiative directly?
Identity theft is a real issue, any counter against it is a good thing in my opinion.
