The greatest thing happened today! My favorite stock trading app announced that they will be opening a new cryptocurrency trading platform! Robinhood is a zero-commision stock trading app which will now feature Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Litecoin, and 10 other top coins to buy and sell. Yes, that's right. While trades on Coinbase will cost you between a 1.5-4% fee, Robinhood will be absolutely free. There is no catch either. No monthly fee. No markup in coin price. According to co-founder, Vlad Tener, they will be operating on a break even basis. Their income will be derived from interest in money they hold and the occasional user that would like to use their margin trading options.
The $1.3 billion dollar company Robinhood has been around for 5 years and is a very stable app showcasing a very user friendly trading interface. They also allow you to make instant deposits straight from you bank account for up to $1,000. Anything more than that and it will take as long as a normal ACH transaction. Still much faster than the minimum 5 business days that it takes with Coinbase. This simple and easy to use trading platform is one of the only apps that combines both stocks and cryptocurrency, therefore adding even more legitimacy to our beloved coins.
This has all been unveiled and rolled out TODAY! While a trade has not been made yet, right now you can sign up, track prices, get news, and set alerts all on the platform. There is a waiting list right now and it is rapidly getting bigger...
