Crypto Wars

in #crypto7 years ago

I have been thinking about currencies and what typically drives and asserts value. One driver of the strength and value of a currency comes from the resources and military backing that currency up. This brings me to the question. As the military strength and power of governments shrink as the money becomes more decentralized, will we see independent militia's begin to rise to the front and see some of the individuals or groups whom hold larger stakes in these currencies trying to increase their resources and decrease their competitor currencies resources through military and tactical missions? Yes, I realize this may be well down the road, but I say the answer is yes, unless governments manage to prevent the decentralization.

The additional piece that we may see is hacker groups that wage cyber wars against the different currencies.

Sadly I don't think the 'military power shrinks' point will be a reality. I just wrote some thoughts on all this in another post: https://steemit.com/cryptocurrencies/@cmaccu/russian-crypto-rouble-and-the-implications
