So, I've heard know about Steem for some time now. Never really researched it too much or really anything past scrolling by it on Coinmarketcap. I have seen Trevon James make videos on it and dismissed it as a sort of "Social Media" platform. I despise social media, well mainly Facebook I guess. Anyway the other day I watched another video by Trevon about Steem and thought, "Fuck It, I'll make an account."
What did throw me off initially was the sign-up process. I wasn't aware your account had to be "approved." I just thought my account wasn't being created, but after I stopped for minute it does clearly say "when approved they'll send an email." Attention to detail, you think mine would be better having spent the last 10 years in the military. I digress.
Bottom line I like how Steem has utility, a real life use. I enjoy up-voting worthy and well thought out comments/blogs and posts of sorts, its "Proof-of-Brain" is great! Also makes me laugh. It creates an incentive to curate quality content from it's users. Content that one can contemplate and provide quality response and generate meaningful conversations between each-other. I look forward to becoming more involved in this community.
