In a rather disrupting news, the South Korean e-commerce platform WeMakePrice announced(content in Hangul) they are working with the exchange Bitsum to implement "virtual" currencies in their platform. Implementation will be done "once regulations are in place":
The two companies reportedly plan to complete the billing system and make actual services as soon as government policies and regulations on virtual money are confirmed.
Also, there will be about 12 tokens accepted, but we don't know yet all of them:
The partnership is aimed at enabling 12 kinds of virtual currencies, such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Ripple, to be used as payment means through WonderPay.
One can only dream, given the popularity STEEM/SBD enjoy in South Korea, that they would be some of those 12 cryptocurrencies. And when you think about zero fees transactions and fast settlement, it's hard to find a better competitor, to be honest.
All in all, if this news is confirmed, and an actual implementation will be done, this will be huge for the crypto market. And if STEEM is included, well, it will be mega-huge. I'm already thinking how to make my two books translated in Korean available on that platform, for STEEM.

I Hangul, actually, that's how their language is called. The same two books were also translated in Farsi.

I thought Hangul was the name of the Korean writing system (both an alphabet and a syllabary at the same time, quite remarkable).

This will be huge for Steem if they are added. I'm hoping top 20 crypto. I'm hoping 2018 is the year that Steem solidifies itself as a top 20 crypto and 2019 will be the year for top 10.
