Hi all you great steemians. Love to be sharing my thoughts and experiences with you again.
As you may know I've been involved in the crypto space for a couple of years now and I got to say, since I bought my first Satoshi back in 2015 till now, a lot has changed in my life.
Now, I'm not that lucky guy who had a couple of thousand dollars to throw into btc and the patience to wait for years and become literally millionaire.
No. I'm like probably most of us here, the guy who regrets ever spending those precious bitcoins. Although regret is a strong word, and I'll take that back. I'm greatful that I not only discovered btc back in 2015, but also used it. Fully understanding its power and uses.
Of course it took me about a year later to understand that Btc could be an investment by itself and decided that 2016 would be the start of some long term holding, until at least 2020.
First thing I learned, holding long term is really hard. Not only mentally, but also physically. Months after I bought my first ether, at 11usd my address got hacked by my own stupidity and a very simple fishing site. Thanks to the great white hacks of Mew I got all my eth back. But was so afraid that immediately sold everything at 12 usd.
So, once again, a year later I made the exact same mistake.
By 2017 I felt like a mature investor in the market, and had a very diversified portfolio. This time I got some panic selling and stupid trading in September. Right around the corner of the last greatest bull run I've been into, Yet.
Of course the market was so bullish that I got some good rewards, but definitely not as good as they could have been if I just Hodl.
So, it's been three years now and I've make my goal to hodl no matter what all my coins until January 2019.
As we've all learned the markets tend to heat up and fall by January, so thats a great time to take some profit and rebalance my portfolio.
That's another resolution of 2018, to manage my portfolio like a pro. Which means, taking emotions aside, but following my intuition and math.
Today I hold a portfolio of 15 coins which I feel comfortable holding long term. In the next episodes I'll share you my choices and how I keep track of my investment, some great stories of my biggest mistakes, and recommendations on how to live a balanced life with cryptos.
So, lesson learned #1:
HODL, be responsible and stay truth with your portfolio. Make big adjustments only from January to April and the rest of the year use it to research and enjoy life.
May you show your light and love.
hello @etka The cryptocurrency market isn’t just about Bitcoin anymore. There are other cryptocurrencies that have entered the space, such as Ethereum, Litecoin and Ripple. All of these have performed incredibly well over the last year... thanks for sharing....
Hi @dimpledoll. That's exactly right. The market space is growing fast. Great projects that will make our life better are starting to develop products and partnerships that will take us mainstream. In the next episode I'll share my portfolio and thoughts about all different coins. Cheers!
