According to confirmed news, MyEtherwallet's DNS wallets have been modified by a hacker and have been stolen by hundreds of ether units (equivalent to more than $ 150,000) using the phishing method.
Yesterday morning (May 4th), for some hours, some of MyEtherWallet's wallet users, one of the most common etiquette wallets, were the victim of a strange attack to steal domain name service.
Based on the posting that was published on Reddit, people who use Google's public DNSs were referred to other IPs to access Myetherwallet instead of using this site's secure cloud service. Accordingly, when they visited the Myetherwallet.com address and entered private keys to enter their account, private keys were sent to hackers .
The address of the hacker on Etherscan, named "Fake_Phishing899" . According to a survey, about 215 ETH ($ 150,000 at current prices) were stolen by this hacker, and these amounts are divided into several wallets.
This site known as one of the most original and safest Ethereum wallets. This site is not an online wallet or web site, but it only provides wallet services or calling for various wallets of Ethereum.
The hacker has hijacked domain access and has used counterfeit pages and stolen several private keys. The exact number of stolen private keys has not yet been determined.
According to the Myetherwallet managers, the problem isn't completely resolved and they are considering preventing it from happening again.
