The type of money the world needs is deceptively simple. But first lets look at what we are stuck with these days.
There are 3 types of money today:
- Bank created fiat ($,£,€, etc.)
- Precious metals (gold, Silver, etc)
- Cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Etherium, etc.)
All three of these currencies have strengths and weakness. For example:
Bank created fiat
Strengths
- It is universally accepted as payment for goods and services within the state it is issued
- It can be exchanged for other fiat currencies when buying or spending in other states with a different fiat currency
Weaknesses
- Due to inflation it is a very poor store of value
- Based on debt it leads to booms and extended recessions
- Results in poverty and disparity of wealth
- Being a debt-based Ponzi scheme it sooner or later collapses
Precious metals
Strengths
- A good store of value having not lost its purchasing power for thousands of years
- Universally accepted as a transferrer of wealth
- Has intrinsic value and industrial uses
Weaknesses
- Not useful for day to day purchases of goods and services
- Prone to theft
Cryptocurrencies
Strengths
- The most secure form of money in existence
- Uses trustless P2P systems
- Rapid and cheap transfers of money around the world
Weaknesses
- Poor store of value to high price volatility
- Not accepted for payment for most goods and services due to lack of adoption
A Super Currency to Rule the world
All current 'monetary instruments' have their strengths and weaknesses. The best kind of money to facilitate mass adoption and a fairer and more prosperous world must combine the strengths and eliminate the weaknesses of current money systems.
The super money to rule the world would need to be:
- secure,
- non-inflationary,
- universally acceptable as payment good and services,
- cheap to use and transfer.
To ensure security as well as cheap to use and transfer it needs to based on Blockchain (or some similar technology).
To ensure acceptability and general use it needs to be pegged to the fiat currency used by the state it is used in, and can be frictionlessly exchanged to the fiat currency and back at any time.
It's non-inflationary store of value comes from being backed by a precious metal, like in the good old days.
There are developing projects that employ frictionless exchange between crypto and fiat. For example: Mona However these cryptos are unstable in price.
There is also a crypto project that ties its coin to physical gold, see: digix However, not being pegged to any fiat currency this project makes a good store of value but a poor medium of exchange.
By combining the technologies of these two projects underpinned by a crypto-currency that mimics the host state's fiat currency in value and unit measures, we have a modern world currency that is superior and desirable to any other money system that has gone on before.
People will be their own bankers keeping their savings in non-inflationary precious metals, exchanging them for fiat currency pegged units for transaction.
Savers will be rewarded again. People will be able to exchange goods and services without, directly or indirectly, incurring debt.
This is currency that the world has been waiting for.
We have the technology. We have the need. An ICO to launch this project is being planned. Updates will be made as progress continues. We are looking for qualified individuals to join the team.
As is always true in capitalism, competition is good - especially where currencies are concerned.
