Thanks for sharing. I like his view on sound money. He used to be very critical about Bitcoin as it is a totally virtual thing and you can't 'touch' it, but seeing all the benefits it has over current FIAT or gold I think he somewhat changed his mind.
At the Satoshi Roundtable in Cancun this year I got to sit down with the amazing Ron Paul and discuss why cryptocurrency is important. Dr Paul is a hero of the liberty movement especially because of the work he's done to spread awareness about the problems of government-controlled money and the federal reserve, so he is a huge inspiration for many of those involved with cryptocurrency. It was amazing to have him with us at the roundtable.
Nice sharing!!!!
I can't blame an old guy like Ron too much for taking awhile to come around, especially since he was primarily a) a politician and b) all but retired by the time cryptocurrencies had entered the public perception, but my opinion of people like Doug Casey and Peter Schiff has changed drastically after seeing their response to cryptos. Those guys sell themselves as economic and financial consultants, yet their hostility towards crypto strikes me as being more motivated by their own business interests than a true misunderstanding of the economic factors behind it. At least it sounds like Doug is coming around, Schiff is still out there spreading FUD and clinging to his "maybe it will work if it is backed by gold" mantra.
