What are Sell Walls in Crypto Trading?
This is a question that repeatedly comes up in crypto trading groups. Sell walls are large sell orders. Buy walls are large buy orders. It is simple as that. These walls are used by whales to move markets. They are pretty easy to spot. Noobs tend to run scared when they see sell walls and buy when they see a buy wall. Take a step back and take a deep breath.
Why Put Up a Sell Wall in Crypto?
- Hold or Suppress a Price Down.
- Push a Price Down Into Personal Buy Orders.
- Cause Panic in a Market.
- Everyone Legitimately Wants to Sell.
- Create Negative Sentiment in the Market.

Why Put Up a Buy Wall in Crypto?
- Get Sellers to Close Their Sell Orders.
- Push the Market Up.
- Support a Bullish Market.
- Push the Market Into Personal Sell Orders.
- Create Positive Sentiment in the Market.
What I Do When I See Sell Walls and Buy Walls Pop Up.
I try to figure out what is happening. Is it a pump and dump group trying to push the price up. Is a whale trying to push the price down into their buy orders? I am very cautious when I am buying with a false buy wall present and I do not sell with a false sell wall. The only time that I disregard this is when there is either positive news or negative news. In this case it could be regular market behavior.

It is a good post to let others (who weren't aware) know about sell and buy walls. But to be honest I expected more from this post. I mean more detailed explanations about how to act, how to distinguish and etc.

Large investors can influence the market to their advantage (both upwards and downwards) and I am not a big investor. I'd rather wait a few minutes or a few hours for the whale to disappear. That being said, I think this article is fantastic! Newer investors are fairly unfamiliar with these Whale tactics and I think if they have a better understanding as to what they're used for they're far likely to FOMO sell off. Ive seen countless 100 BTC Sell walls pop up and I thought, "OMG WHATS HAPPENING!?" but I come back down to reality and realize Spoofy is just out playing with the n00bs. I am finding it very important not to make mistakes again running into walls. All about info and not rushing in. I figure others coming in will make those mistakes so I focus more on trading that info. Then worry about chasing the big dogs of crypto. Finding and working those patterns will serve us well going forward.
When i see a big sell wall i try to sell too and wait some time to see the price more cheap and buy again because you have to have in mind all the market cycles and try to learn of them because sometimes you hold your coins and you don't do movements in that cycles and lost the opportunity of have more coins,for example i bought 10 omg and i took advantage of market cycles and now i have 13 omg . You are playing into their game. HODLing and buying more on the dip is my technique.
Yes friend it's almost the same technique you buy on dips and i do the same but selling at the highest peak to buy again on dips :) . Regards

Interesting. These walls can magically disappear at any point as well. It is really hard to deduce what is going on. When the culprit gets what they want the market can go any direction.

Being the OLD Guy that I am. I am glad that you pointed this out to the NOOBS @hilarski. I was a licensed Stockbroker for over 26 years in the Financial Industry and I can tell you I saw it all from the Inside seat looking at Wall Street. All I can say now is that I am glad I no longer am in that industry.......... We are all so young in the CRYPTO's so I must say at this point I love the term HODL........
Yes, HODLing is my favorite thing now. When you HODL these walls are not even noticed.

Yes, profit.
Buy and sell walls to a single dealer. When a large buy or sell order is displayed, it is likely that other investors will place their orders for the same price point. Since the exchanges usually do not buy and sell their own buildings, so the value manipulation is usually from the investors.

'HODL' is the key against sell wall.
Traders should be patient and not fall for other people manipulations.
Otherwise, they rather not trade, because they will lose all their money and then jump from the roof.

I'm not a day trader, I am buying tokens and cryptocurrency that have functions that will either buy every day products for me that are efficient or exchanges that are super efficient. I am buying and trading to get out of the centralized fiat currency world.
I am in the cryptocurrency and world for the long run. Saying that I also trade for profit so I can invest in structures like steemit. My husband knew about this but I had no clue, it makes sense to me. Thank you @hilarski, through you actions here on Steemit, you are someone I trust when giving me information I can use.
this massive buy/sell can effect on the price of BTC and recently the price is very ups&down, but steady. now we are looking forward what next come.......
Buying on dips and lows exactly what your guts tells you not to do has always worked out well for me "so far"
I just tend to HODL when it gets to that situation. the wall will fall with time and the market gets back to normal.

Hey bro @hilarski It goes that without that you put more of a certain cryptocurrency, you are more affected by the change in that cryptocurrency value. For this reason, a significant amount of bitcoin, etherium, tripple (or any form of cryptoconceance) is also known as "whim", which is in their best interest to control the best price currencies in their dealings. This is not a whim of its best interest, for example, a coin does not allow the price to climb above a certain level until the currency is accumulated as much as possible. For this reason, whales are often created to sell and sell whales for manipulation of a currency.
