Even if Bitcoin is co-opted I don't think it decides the fate of Crypto. The newer privacy coins like ZenCash and things like atomic swaps will correct the shortcomings of Bitcoin and controlled exchanges.

It's too early to know what the crypto age has for us in the future. It's like discussing google or facebook when the Internet was first released to the public. We have too just wait and see

One thing that is true about cryptocurrency, is that if at least one person has the wallet, that crypto will exist. That is the nature of the decentralization. Its amazing.
