Hey, there is still 7 weeks of airdrops left so you still have time to join in go to https://www.deeponion.org/airdrop.html to find out more.
Yes there is Linus wallet available, you can purchase $Onion at number of exchanges out of the most popular ones Kucoin or Cryptopia come to mind.
No you dont need to use TOR its integrated with tor already (it also has Meek and OBFS4 in case you need to use it in countries that are not pro crypto :))

Thanks for the info!
I tried to sign up to the deeponion forum but I got to the point where you need a wallet/address and it all came to a halt. I'm not seeing a linux wallet like the youtube vid linked on the sign up page shows.
All I see is links to windows and mac wallets, a mega link (which only includes windows and mac wallets) and a github link to the source code.
So I'm stuck at the sign up stage.
Sorry if I'm asking silly questions or making a simple mistake. Any insight would be appreciated.
Hello, I think I found a Linux tutorial for installing on Linux: https://deeponion.org/community/support-tickets/knowledge-base/linux-build-qt-wallet-on-ubuntu-article-video.6/
There is also a Steemit link in the post: https://steemit.com/deeponion/@nezero/build-the-deeponion-qt-wallet-on-ubuntu
Either of these should tell you how to build you QT wallet on Linux.
You can find more guides on DeepOnion for Mac, Windows and inux here: https://deeponion.org/community/support-tickets/knowledge-base/category?category_id=1
Hope that helps!
Thanks for that mobbe85!
I can't view the first or third links because I'm not logged in as a forum member, which is a bit of a catch 22.
.The second link to the steemit post seems to be what I need though.
The "free" airdrop isn't looking so free anymore, - I have join two forums, come up with posts to get my membership upgraded & build my own wallet.
I'm starting to feel like circus pony jumping through hoops.
OK
I cloned the repository - no problems.
I installed qt and all the tools & libs listed - no problems
Then I got to the build stage and there's nothing in my src/leveldb/ folder to apply the attributes to and the next step (make) can't proceed. There's nothing at all in my src/leveldb/ folder.
I don't have time to be chasing digital fairies today. I might have to put this on the back burner.
