Late last year I opened a Coinbase and Poloniex account for my 18 year old son. I seeded his account with a couple hundred dollars worth of BTC. I then taught him the very basics of trading alt coins.
Turns out this is the best $200 that I have ever spent. In the last 4 months, He has learned more about saving, analyzing, and investing through buying alt coins than he has in 12 years of public education.
Most importantly, he now looks at what he spends with much more scrutiny. He looks at trade offs between spending his money on teenager crap compared to what he can gain through moving his money to his alt coin collection. For instance, he bought shoes the other day, he was initially looking at a $100 pair of Nike’s, but when he saw that there was a similar pair for $60, he chose the $60 shoes and bought more STR with the $40 difference.

I like to compare this type crypto investing to a 'coin collection' especially so in the case of children. It should be the process that is the most valuable thing rather than the possible monetary reward. You should be proud!
