Even a crypto-moron can see that this brave new world of Steem will hit $10 soon enough.

Maybe even shortly after New Year...?

Hello Steem team,

I’m brand new to the platform, so please cut me some slack, but even I can see that this currency and community has serious, serious potential. Steemit rules!

Why, because it has all the tangible upsides of a legitimate crypto currency plus all the soft benefits of being a home for creative, interesting content, comment and discussion. It’s a 360 degree platform.

I, like I guess many others who are attracted to this platform, have never blogged, vlogged. posted or otherwise published myself online in my life. And yet here I am doing just that, Why?

Because of the attraction of a brave new world where ‘points win prizes’ in a very real and direct way, unhindered by the need to attract advertising revenue to earn any kind of meaningful payment for content. That, coupled with the inherent value of an impressive digital currency, which has huge potential both in terms of terms of its uses and value, is just too much to ignore.

Whenever I've started talking about Steemit to those who have are unaware (which happens a lot lately because I'm becoming a massive crypto-bore as well as a crypto-moron), at first they're confused, but as they begin to get their head around the whole thing, their eyes begin to light up, and they LOVE IT. They love the concept, and they sense the opportunity.

The opportunity cost, both in financial terms and in terms of satisfaction, of not getting involved at this (relatively) early stage, is too great to risk.

I’ve been ‘lightly dabbling’ in crypto investment throughout this year and am coming to understand the utterly fundamental shift in economic and political functionality that we’re all beginning to witness.

It feels like we’re all stood at the foot of a huge mountain mountain of awe inspiring potential, but also on the precipice of another huge wave of global economic (and political) upheaval and uncertainty.

For example, what happens when traditional and institutional investors can no longer resist the tidal wave of opportunity in crypto investment and jump into the sharkpool? What happens to the value of the shares of businesses that were once the apple of their eye? As huge swathes of money shift from traditional stocks, shares, bonds and other financial instruments and into crypto, what happens to those businesses whose value has just dropped off a cliff? And their employees? Could we all be shooting ourselves in the foot?

No doubt, my views on this are simplistic and lacking a depth of understanding, but it never the less feels like there may be legitimate concerns in there.

No matter, the pros will undoubtedly outweigh the cons, especially in the longer term, and of all the many pros that this new world of digital currency, open ledgers and the rest will bring, it seems to me that Steemit, both literally and in terms of what it stands for ideologically, brings more to the table than virtually any other platform.

And it seems we’re right at the very beginning of what the Steemit platform and the blockchain it feeds from will bring, from decentralized video sharing to who knows what. All of us, right here, right now, are going to be part of something big.

Which is exciting. But you don’t need me to tell you that. You already knew. Which is why you’re here. But at least now I’m clearer in my own mind. Which is why it’s good to write. Which is why Steemit is great. And why the price of Steem will be $10 very shortly. Probably. Maybe. So says a crypto-moron!

I have to agree, the vast potential of Steem is just beginning to be tapped into.
