Yea "grandma-friendly" tool makes for better marketing than "even an idiot could use it" tool.
As you mention below, the lower the barriers to entry, the more transparency, the safer the environment is. Of course, no one wants to make it easier for criminals to launder money, but more transparency usually deters criminal activity.

Well in my surroundings I've heard people selling their cars and houses, taking pensions from their grandparents and putting it to cryptos with a dream to get rich quick. And they haven't heard a word "blockchain" at all, or price technical analysis for that matter. Knowing that there already been suicides in the world because of such investments, it just doesn't feel right :(
