I came across this story in my news feed. I'm going to be honest, I'm a little tech retarded when it comes to data mining and how it is done exactly, but i know there are people out there making a killing doing so...
But as the FCC continues to get complaints about interference on carrier's signal they are reacting, or in my opinion, over reacting. As with many new things, there is a learning curve... i am certain that this too in time will remedy itself by way of Miners finding a solution to the frequency feedback bleeding into the cell carrier's signal feed....
Do you mine crypto? are you curious as to how to build a rig? have you wondered what the risk/reward payout for doing so? Well there are videos all over the place that if you are so inclined, can do just that... build a rig and start mining crypto!! Personally, while i am curious..... I'm not so sure after reading this if it would be worth it. I mean if the FCC can just come in and seize your rigs, then you're out that time and money spent investing in a very profitable endeavour.
If you are reading this, and are a crypto miner, Please feel free to share your thoughts, insights, and maybe teach those of us a little less savvy to the art of crypto mining.. ..
thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed doing so. Everyone have a great day, and please....don't let your rigs get jacked by the feds...
From reading the article, I think that this is just limited to a model of ASIC miner called Antminer. They are popular with Bitcoin miners. Most people these days do GPU mining(like in the pics you posted) on alt-coins since they are the most profitable. I have a few GPU miner myself and I also have T-mobile cell phone service and I have not noticed any interference. I think this is a very isolated issue.
ahh... so limited to a specific mining rig... so the GPU miners don't emitt any frequency feedback ? that's interesting. but good GPU's get pricy, i just upgraded mine last night and i couldn't believe it was that expensive. seemed like the last one i had bought was less than a hundred bucks....
I am 99% sure that the GPUs themselves do not emit any illegal frequency feedbacks because they are made by AMD and NVIDIA who are a major corporation in the US and will need to go through testing to follow all US laws and regulations before they can sell their products.
Thats the supply and demand working! Miners are buying up all the GPUs.
