So I have been investing in crypto for about a year now, and I am really into the alt-coin market. I think that is the best place to strike it rich.
You can get coins for pennies on the dollar, so there does not have to be a huge investment for some of these coins. I have been collecting them and feel like my portfolio is pretty good. If one of the small coins makes it, I could really make some money for my retirement. FYI: I don't plan on touching these until I retire.
Here are my list of alt-coins that I have bought with a rough estimate of how many I have:
ARDR-500
BAT-1000
BCN-31,000
BELA-240
BTC-1
BTS-240
DGB-4,000
DOGE-4,000
EOS-130
ETC-5
ETH-12
GAME-50
GNT-300
IOT-1000
LSK-100
MAID-200
OMG-50
REP-5
SAN-500
SC-6,000
SNGLS-2,000
SNT-2,000
STEEM-1,000
STR-2,500
STRAT-6
WAVES-75
XEM-400
XMR-3
XRP-900
I have really tried to do extensive investigation on the coins before I purchase. Let me know what you think of my portfolio and if you have any suggestions. You are more than welcome to use my list, but I am not a professional and this is not for quick money. I plan on holding these for at least 20 years.
Now that I have my base collection of coins I will ad to them when i like new projects. I plan on getting some TEZO coin next. If there is real interest in this post I will do a brief description of each coin in my own words and why i like them.
Thanks @nezbong
Nice collection but it is pretty brave to say that you are holding it for 20years...does that means even when one of these coins will fail you are going all the way down with it??? That wouldn`t be a smart move...keep on tracking and replacing if coins are not worth it anymore.
You are right @masterthematrix. If one of the coins starts to fail I will probably get out of that coin. I was just using that number of years to state that I am not really day trading or even year trading these coins. I plan on holding them awhile.
Great index man! You've got some stong hand to HODL for that long.. respect
Thanks man. Only time will tell if I can hold out
haha good point, that will be true for all of us ;)
That is pretty diverse. The one I have you don't are LBC, MUE & XEL. Other than that you have the other ones I have plus many more.
As far is retirement, A good investment is a high yield investment program. I'm all about Control-Finance at the moment because it's a cryptocurrency investment program. Do some research and check it out. If you want to hold for 20 years, look at something like this. Here's my referral link: https://control-finance.com/?ref=LongStockSilver .
I will take your advice and check into those coins. When I say this is my retirement plan, I was using that loosely. I have a portfolio in a more secure plan. This is my risky balls to the walls plan hoping to retire in style:)
Right on. Same here. I'm pretty diverse in my long-term holdings. If you are into some things that have a little higher risk or "risky balls to the wall", would check out that link I posted to Control-Finance above. No joke it almost seems too good to be true and it's super easy.
Anyway, enough of the shilling. Of the three coins I mentioned I really like LBC. They have a solid platform. I currently have 310 of them. :)
Nice but big collection! I am not sure I would make the same choices. In my thinking it all depends on the amount of risk/reward you want. You can put money in many things and increase your chance of one of them making it big, and thus netting you a profit. But you can also 'specialize' into a few coins, so that when they make it big you end up with a significant amount of money.
I see you have 1000 STEEM but only 6 STRAT for example, where I see STRAT being able to reach Ethereum price levels much more easy than I can see STEEM reaching a similar market cap or anywhere near where it would net you the same amount of profit.
But I agree, nice list!
Thanks for the comment @pandorasbox Even though this list seems big, I really do think that the crypto world is going to be huge, and each of these coins represents a different arena that they can grow in. I choose them specifically because I liked what they had to offer. I mainly bought steem to power up on this sight to get influence. i do like strat and will take your advice and get a few more.
What I really think you should do instead, or as well, is pick up some Antshares/NEO!
It has a huge potential and good momentum. Furthermore, because ANS pays out GAS it has incentive to hold on instead of sell the coins, which should further stabilize the price and encourage growth as there will be less people selling compared to other markets.
Good Idea. I was going to buy some with ether on bitfinex yesterday but realized you had to use bitcoin.
Best be quick before the massive altcoin rise makes it too expensive!
I think that if a coin correlates to the BTC price then it is a good investment for a long term and I believe that most coins are very good to hold.
Can you explain "if a coin correlates to the BTC price"? Still new to this...
Yes what I mean is if BTC price shoots up then the particular altcoin price shoots up too and not like other altcoins that doesn't react when something happens to BTC.
