Women have played a big role in advancing technology from the very beginning, and blockchain is no different. Since Ada Lovelace first theorized looping algorithms, these contributions have often gone unnoticed, or unrewarded. Here are some of the ways women continue to push the boundaries of computer science in the growing fields of cryptocurrency and blockchain.
Crystal Rose, founder of digital marketing agency ONVI Media and Hyype social media software, went on to co-found Sensay, an AI-powered chatbot platform that allows anyone to ask experts questions anonymously. She also co-founded and directed Code for LA, an open-data initiative, in partnership with the Los Angeles mayor’s office.
Lightning Labs is an open protocol layer that uses smart contracts and blockchain, making transactions less costly, faster, private, and accessible to anyone worldwide. Lightning Labs CEO and co-founder Elizabeth Stark also acts as an advisor to startups in cryptocurrency, decentralized technology, and artificial intelligence.
Galia Benartzi, who co-founded Particle Code to help app developers port their software across mobile platforms is now the co-founder of business development at Bancor. The Bancor protocol helps user-generated cryptocurrencies to thrive by supporting Smart Token convertibility.
ColliderX is an blockchain research and development hub, founded by Iliana Oris Valiente. ColliderX is open-sources, crowdsourced, and crowdfunded. It explores more than just blockchain, projects also include artificial intelligence, machine learning, and augmented reality.
All of these women, and many more have made important contributions to technology today. Read more about women’s role in computer science, technology, and blockchain in this infographic.

Now we just need more women to invest in crypto! I'm doing my part as a female crypto-enthusiast writing about it here. Women have definitely played a role in advancing crypto, now we just need more reaping the rewards of it.
Agree Kylie! It's pretty insane how disproportionate on how few women invest in crypto at the moment. I'll have to check out your writings!
