One can become addicted to anything, like watching shows or shopping. We all display addictive behavior pretty often when you think about it. Our entire society thrives on this behavior. Every individual has their reasons for seeking out their addictions, and that's the point. What we should look at is the pain that the individual is escaping with the addiction. Of all the addictions one could have though, cannabis is a great one actually since you can't overdose on it.
