We've all seen scams, there are hundreds of them related to crpytocurrencies. From the obvious ones, to ones that are very subtle. So, here we go. I'm gonna categorise all these scams by category, just to make it easier
1. Bitcoin generators
We've all seen them - "Hack 500BTC by depositing 0.005BTC using new revoulitionary method" or "Get your bitcoin for free", but they ask you to do a survey that'll never work
Most of them look something like this
^ Some examples of web based ones
There are also some that will ask you to download software. I'd be particularly weary of ones like this:
2. Cloud mining
While some cloud mining sites are "legit", almost all of them make it impossible to make profit. I'll split these into 2 categories, depending on the scam factor
a) Legit
These are services where, if you buy, you will get paid out, but you won't profit. Some notable ones in this category are:
- Genesis Mining
While this is legit, it's basically impossible to profit because of the high price of duration limited contracts and the high fees on linetime ones - HashFlare
This cloud mining service was considered the most legit with their low-fee lifetime bitcoin contracts, but earlier this year they removed lifetime BTC contracts and changed them to 1 year contracts. Even the people already in a contract got this change. They also upped the minimum widthdraw from 0.0007 BTC to 0.01 BTC.
b) HYIP scams
There are literally hundreds of these. Literally hundreds. I'm just gonna post some examples in picture form here
They all promise the same thing "Guranteed profit through mining". These are all ponzis, so don't invest anything in them.
3. Bitcoin investment scams
Again, even more ponzis. You can spot these by claims of ridicilous profit by automated trading and ridicilous refferal programs
Just... Don't invest in these. You will lose your money, and you will not get any of it back.
And that's all! It's all I can say. Feel free to comment and stuff.
Hashflare is actually profitable if you put a good chunk of money in it, and Bitconnect is also legit too.
In which way Bitconnect is legit? Please explain in more details
