Ever see a coin quickly increase in price then dip back down for no reason?
This may be due to "pump" groups on Bittrex.
The group I became a part of originated in /biz/ on 4chan.
After clicking an invite link, I found myself on a Discord server with about 100 members.
I quickly began talking with the creator and became a moderator.
The server had an affiliate program where the more people you invited, the more benefits you got.
The whole premise of the group was to artificially "pump" a coin's price on Bittrex, while simultaneously "shilling" the coin. (Shilling is artificially advertising/endorsing)
The point was to create "the Fear of Missing Out" (FOMO) so others would buy the coin, increasing its price further.
Then, once unknowing people think they just bought a coin before it "moons", the pump group sells out, hopefully taking a profit from the people who bought outside of the group.
This was the group's most recent/last pump. BITB was the coin of choice.

I never partook in a pump, knowing it was unlikely to succeed and somewhat immoral.
However, I did my job as a moderator and watched the server grow.
Remember how it had an affiliate program? Well it was extremely effective.
The server almost reached a whopping 15,000 members before its demise.
The server got hacked and shut down. RIP BigPump.
Anyways, if you see a coin rapidly increasing, quickly search for actual news/information on why.
Also, if you're new on 4chan's /biz/, or just surfing online, be very skeptical of what is being posted and promoted.
