Helium News - Bobcat Miner OTA Update - 09/29/2021

I don't know if it's good or bad news when we get two updates in three days, but for now, things are like that with the Helium network.

The following updates occurred in this OTA:

Helium Hotspot Firmware updated to 2021.09.27.0

Bobcat Miner Firmware updated to 1.0.2.28

This OTA update is for the Helium Hotspot Firmware only. The release includes some performance fixes and a bug fix to block sync. It also includes a new core developer blessed snapshot at height 1029491. Helium has identified the cause of lack of agreements on on-chain snapshots and have issued a fix for it as well but this will require a validator release. Read the Helium engineering blog here for more details.

You may check your Bobcat Miner Firmware and Helium Firmware versions from Bobcat Diagnoser. Go to your Bobcat Diagnoser page and click 'Miner (5s, miner slowdown)', Wait approximately 5 seconds for the page to load.

Inside the Json files, check "ota_version" and "Image," which will let you know the Bobcat and Helium firmware versions you are on (see image below).
