Bowman was victorious at the X-Games in 2015 and 2016 before Martinod took the title from her in 2017, as well as clinching the FIS crystal globe in the discipline, while Onozuka was crowned world champion in 2017 ahead of Martinod. Germany are hot favourites to take at least one podium place in today's race. Their team of Eric Frenzel, Johannes Rydzek, Fabian Riessle and Björn Kircheisen have all won Olympic and world medals and will be looking to add to their collection today. Taking on the formidable Germans are Akito Watabe (JPN), a strong Norwegian contingent led by Olympic champion Jørgen Graabak and the French, spearheaded by 2010 Olympic champion Jason Lamy-Chappuis. The competition gets underway on the HS140 large hill at Alpensia. Results from the ski jumping will then be converted into seconds using the Gundersen system, which will determine the starting order for the 10km pursuit.
