Here's My 1-Million-Dollar-Tip On How To March Through The Crypto Valley Of Tears

in #crypto6 years ago (edited)

Lethargy is the forerunner of death to the public liberty. - Thomas Jefferson

When was the last time your lethargic behavior led to something really outstanding?

Not sure what about you, but I've never ever accomplished anything in my life by wallowing in self-pity.

Yes, the current situation at the crypto markets totally sucks. But today I'll be suggesting you an absolutely wild and crazy strategy in order to march through that long valley of tears.

What you need to know is that I was already here when Steem price was at 9 cents. No, not $9.00 dollars, I said $0.09 dollars.

Do you want to know how I managed to survive the big depression?

It's not what you think.

surfermarly_cryptomillionaire.png
@surfermarly not doing anything at all (that's what you think)

Walk, steemians. Walk.

Human beings are goal oriented creatures, so I'll be serving you a couple of appetizers here.

You may have forgotten that in the young past of this blockchain, Steem has originated at least one millionaire named @trafalgar.

It will completely surprise you, but he made his first million on Steem (yes, I mean it: $1,000,000) buying the dip.

I loved it. I wanted to buy Steem. (...) The price remained low for a while, probably because the latest changes at the time reset the rewards pool, but I was as confident as Quasimodo with a bottle of roofies in his pocket that things were going to change for the better. Spoiler alert: god damn, was I right. - 3 months, 1000 Followers and $1 Million Later...

No, that's not a joke.

He really made a million with Steem, and I bet he's not gonna be the last one in doing so.

Oh I know what you wanna say: well if you don't have the money to buy the dip, then you can still blog post the hell out of this blockchain, can't you?

Do you know how much I've earned on Steem so far? More than 30,000 Steem, worth $70,000 USD (before tax) - only by blogging.

If you need more evidence:

I'm really sorry to not engage with your damn lethargy.

eifxdzw3st.png

Do you know the sweat equity principle?

Hopefully most of you are familiar with the Steem whitepaper.

This here is one of my favourite parts:

All forms of capital are equally valuable. This means that those who contribute their scarce time and attention toward producing and curating content for others are just as valuable as those who contribute their scarce cash. This is the sweat equity principle and it's a concept that prior cryptocurrencies have often had trouble providing to more than a few dozen individuals. - Steem whitepaper, page 5

It's not a written delusion, it's the very truth.

Yet, for most of you it may be more comfortable to point a finger at someone else before getting your own hands dirty.

While some of you spend hours in complaining about the delayed schedule of the Steemit, Inc developers team, others use their valuable time in order to engage with the community and keep their accounts growing.

Funny enough, some of the currently loudest complainers in the comment section of @steemitblog's updates on SMTs are those who already announced to leave Steem when Dan Larimer resigned.

So now I must power down. This looks like game over for Steem. (author not tagged in order to avoid drama)

Interesting to know that Steem was game over in April 2017... I must have missed that part of the movie.

zgsxreofzu.jpg

I'm close to 10,000 followers on Steem now, and I doubt they'd be there if I was a negative moaner, especially great at complaining all day long.

Negative feedback, if not constructive, is as valuable as a piece of stale bread.

The next time you decide on calling someone else to account for your own lethargy, think twice.

@trafalgar didn't become Steem's first millionaire because he was especially good at whining.

See you on the greener side of the fence 😉

Much love,
Marly -

Hahaha, thanks for the overwhelming affirmation!! :-)) Glad you enjoyed the statement and even shared it with your followers.

Let the positive games begin!

yes :D we need more of those positivity games over here right about now! i'm into it!!! <3

Me, too :-)

Talkin' like a true boss lady 😎

Haha, thanks for the flowers Charles!!

Great post @surfermarly, I like your positive attitude.
I am very optimistic about the future of STEEM right now...
But I am not a "whale" who "lost" a bunch during this recession, I can understand why some of those vested people might feel a bit sore right now...

This is a part of a funny piece of price prediction I read from: http://www.icowatch.live/steem-price-prediction-we-predict-the-steemit-price-for-2018.html

Sell! Sell! Sell! The price of Steem shows NO sign of stopping it’s cataclysmic decent while the price of Steem backed dollars also shows strong negative pressure, dipping below the $1 mark multiple times over the past few days. That’s right folks! Steem has a one way ticket to nowhere-ville and most likely will not see any type of resurgence until the end of 2018. Be sure to sell ALL of your Steem and Steem Backed Dollars as soon as possible before the price drops below $.5 usd to Steem.

Lol
If you are willing to believe that first paragraph then you are on of the sweet innocent sheeple that are funding the riches of the cryptocurrency market. For this we say thank you for your offering and wish you well until you join us again halfway through the next crypto bull run. For everyone else that is not worried about panic selling and enduring the long cold, bleak winter of a bear market, please continue reading.

You can read the rest on their page it's funny and up-lifting. =)

I am very optimistic about the future of STEEM right now...

Thanks for this, @friendly-fenix :-)
There's a difference between feeling sore (as you called it) and holding s.o. else responsible for your own doings. Nobody ever forced us to buy Steem at $4.00 dollars, did they? Well one can buy the dip and balance out the loss in the long run. That'd be the difference between speculating and investing as you perfectly said.

Appreciated your comment, thanks for stopping by!

Thanks for posting your article @surfermarley,
and I appreciate the upvote!

I know it's super oldschool, but I upvote the things I like :-))

Thanx!
Yeah, now days its all about auto-voting and delegation...
Not saying that is bad, I just don't fully understand it...
/FF

I usually don't even pay attention to prices but hearing that someone made $1Million with steem has made me all the more determined to engage more and increase my SP

The journey is the reward :-)
Glad you felt inspired!!!

Thanks @sufermarley for this motivating content at this suspicious time in crypto market , especially steem.!!

True to your take, nobody achieves anything worthwhile playing the Ostrich, during flux periods. Indeed this is when to DIG DEEPER to get to gdepth of golds and diamonds which are usually far from the reach of the Lethargists. Thus in the contemporary digital currency glooms, players need to run with the BBULLS rather than stagnated with the BEARS!!!

This content is being RESTEEMED to give it maximum exposure to douse as much as possible the melancholy cloud which seem to have enveloped the crypto market for now.

Nicely said, @alaisguineasis - and you're welcome :-)

Thanks @sufermarley. Full of joy to hear from you!!

Holding and selling is individual preference. Since the whole market is down, its a good time to buy and hold. The time to sell is if and when there is a competition that provides better and cheaper product or service than you can

It's one of the best motivational articles about steem. I didn't know that someone made his million dollar here, I will resteem this to my 4800 followers, I hope it will belp them to not give up on steem and to not think that the price is not good. I was posting like crazy last year with the same price and I'm still here. Thanks a lot for such amazing motivation, thanks for inspiring steemians. You are great. :)

Indeed Buy on the dip and stay in there. There's a big difference between an investor and a Speculator. And investors there for a long haul and a Speculator is very short-term. Thanks for sharing.

@surfermarly thanks for the good advice always. I will be very persevering, constant, creative and enthusiastic. In the end we will achieve our goals.

It's interesting to read :)
I hope we all get something good from here in the coming months... It is important that we try every day and we be patient every day. Good things not come fast.
I have the same similar story...not million but before there was nothing more than a camera and pictures in my pocket, now I buy food and paying bills when I use steemit. And this feels cool.

And Sorry I am from Estonia my English week :))

Actually good contain it is. Thank you for share with us

It is good to hear that people are actually making steem from writing positive blogs. Thanks for sharing.

Firstly, congrats on your own success, 10,000 is something to be proud of.

For myself, I can only invest so much into steem. I'm using the same dip to build up reserves on Ether, Bitcoin, and a few others. But I am posting on steem. Most of my posts earn pennies, but here and there a curator finds me and I earn a few dollars that are nothing to sneeze at. It feels good when that happens, it validates me, and I keep going. And my steem power slowly inches up.

Be well, and don't ever stop being successful.

science fiction, fantasy, erotica

This is exactly the kind of attitude we need around here! I haven't made much with Steemit, but I didn't come in here expecting to. And yet day by day I'm slowly climbing in followers, and I'm slowly earning more for every post I make. When I think about skipping out on a post sometimes I remind myself that nothing gets done if I let myself fall into lethargy and just do it anyway, no point in whining about it.

Thanks for sharing. Gonna resteem and show my followers too, because I know sometimes people need this kind of motivation to keep going ^^

Just wondering if you are familiar with the person in picture with quote ?

Well spoken. Just keep stacking up STEEM. There is no better time if your goal is to accumulate.

It does my heart good to see the positive vibrancy of your post. Frankly its a little sad to hear all the moaning when prices are down.

When the prices are high, all I hear is complain about how they missed the bus last time and how they were late. Now that the prices are down we are hearing another tune of from the same people.

I joined steemit in Jan 2018 and didn't have a cent in my pocket to buy steem for SP. All that is there in my wallet has been earned here. I sit eight hours a day in front of my laptop commenting, replying and posting..... being a full time steemian.

yup, this is a great time to buy STEEM

que maravilla lo disfruté bastante

Powerful Marly with the inspiration!
See you in Krakow,
Craiggles 😀

i must admit you made my day with this encouraging spirit blog post i call it excellent motivator. Thanks my regards @surfermarly

The point on "Sweat equity" cannot be understated. I see so many people looking for shortcuts, but the reality is there aren't any, just hard work.

Sweat equity is the very best kind...

When you work for something, you value it highly! ;)

😄😇😄

@creatr

I really dont understand the people.
Here its the steemit, one of the best blockchain use-case.
Communities, friendships, teams, they were built here, because the members saw the real value of this system, this platform.

So, by default, all people are in positive mood, because they got a lot from the steemit.

And some clouds came, the price is falling, and starts complaining.
Why?

The value people still here. The friends still here. The connections still here. What bad things could happen?
Nothing.

I think, we need more positive people, like you, because the members need to see, the "problems" are just temporary.

It' interesting to hear, you are talented and have skills so its possible. I think one should be determined, focused and should have patience. The focus should be on giving values to the society.

Thank you for sharing. This has got me inspired.

If everyone thinks of themselves, nobody is forgotten

Dear author, I really like your content! You’re writing in a very interesting manner!
I think my last post will also be interesting for you:
https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@cryptofrau/buddy-platforma-dlya-avtomatizacii-razrabotki
Please, upvote it! I’ve upvoted your in advance.

I agree with you, just stick in there, I don't have as much as you, but on just more than 14000 steem, I think it is great, and when the price go up again, it can be quite a bit of money. 1 Steem = $8.00 would make me a millionaire in Rand's, which is the South African currency!!

Thank you for the updates. Glad to peer you posting again.
