Since I joined Steemit, I have posted something almost every day. There were actually a couple of 24-hour periods where I did not make a post, but I posted two things the next day, so the "net result" is a post every day. It is important, I think, to post on some sort of regular basis, once per week or whatever, if one wants a steady stream of income from the platform.
The "author rewards" is where the biggest chunk of cash will hit your wallet. The better your posts, the more money you will earn! However, there are several other avenues for increasing the rewards on your posts:
• Join the SteemitRamble server on Discord. Every Thursday, @shadowspub hosts two radio shows there where you can present one of your posts. This will bring more eyes to your work, and upvotes/comments, too! Of course, one should be considerate and upvote/comment some of the others' posts, but spreading the love is half the fun! A day or two after each radio show, the hostess compiles a recap "Curation Post" on Steemit, which will give you additional visibility. It's also a good way to "meet" other folk, and every show is both informative and entertaining!
• Join the Minnow Support Project. They have a website, a server on the Discord app, post-promotion channels, channels where you can get advice and tips, upvoting bots, MSP-Waves radio station with lots of informative and interesting shows, and a wonderful group of helpful people!
• Join one of the communities on Steemit such as healthy-home, #thealliance, #thewritersblock, #steemusa, #teamghana, or others. Just poke around a bit and you will find a community that will fit your needs!
• Besides the above-mentioned SteemitRamble, there are many more communities on the Discord app where you can meet other Steemians, learn & grow, and build community:
SteemitBloggers is a community of people who are serious about blogging
VO.TU = Voices Of The Underground educates people about crypto
TeamGirlPowa supports women and promotes gender equality
SteemitSugars seeks to bring more women to Steemit and crypto
iTestify supports Christian members of Steemit
TheDutyHut an international community of veterans
...and there are many, many more!
Keep your eyes open and join one that seems right for you!
• Join a "curation trail" such a Tpot
Remember that upvoting posts can earn additional income from what they call "curation" here. Sometimes, the rewards are small, but those pennies can accumulate to good rewards over time. Here is a snippet from my wallet yesterday:
11 hours ago Claim rewards: 0.009 SBD and 0.066 STEEM POWER
12 hours ago Claim rewards: 0.098 SBD and 0.031 STEEM POWER
13 hours ago Claim rewards: 0.774 SBD and 0.788 STEEM POWER
Adding up those figures:
• the SBD equals 0.881 — close to a dollar!
• the SteemPower is 0.885 — close to another whole SP!
So, in summation:
• Post regularly
• Compose quality posts
• Join a community
• Upvote others for curation rewards
Happy Steeming! 😊

After publication of this post, someone informed me of the following:
Steem Upvote Bot Tracker

For a fabulous sisterhood supporting women on Steemit:
For a group bringing more women onto Steemit and into Crypto:
For a great group of people who are serious about blogging:
I'd just like to point out that these are author rewards. Curation rewards only give SP, not SBD. These are probably rewards for comments made that got upvoted.
But, the advice and collection of resources is good!
(P.S. The 0.881 SBD is worth quite over a dollar right now :))
Yes, good points! I am still deciphering the difference between the rewards!
And thank you for the compliment! 😊
You can see the curation rewards by going to your wallet > Rewards > Curation Rewards, by the by :)
wow! I was just thinking of looking for a nice veteran community but haven’t put much effort into it. Thanks for the nudge and great info.
I added a link to a community for veterans just a while ago! It's called TheDutyHut and is comprised from veterans all over the world. 😊
That's super impressive! Good for you. It's a major accomplishment - in the beginning that was my goal (post once a day), then I got over whelmed and abandoned ship for like 5 months. I've changed my mentality now - (not about the $, about the satisfaction...though money would be nice LOL) - and am trying to commit to once a week.
I think for a lot of people, starting with a smaller goal makes it more realistic. If they say once a week - anything over that is exceeding the goal :-)
@blunderbabe You are right, that a smaller goal might be better for some folk. So, I have edited my post accordingly, to suggest some "regular" posting schedule instead of once-per-day. In fact, my own once-per-day record has fallen apart over the holidays. LOL! Thanks for your comment and discussion!
Oh wow! I liked your post advice just how it was. Super flattered though that I inspired any updates :-) Same here on holidays! Have a lot of catching up to do - I wish just on Steemit. Scared to even peek at my to do list at this point lol...Happy New Year.
I agree with you @blunderbabe - committing to post is a good thing and the amount has to be realistic for your life! For some 1 a day works, for me I couldn't possibly and I'm pleased if I can do 2 a week. But I ALWAYS advocate quality over quantity!! I lose interest in frequent bloggers if their material doesn't really engage me and opt for those who post less often but who's posts are excellent.
Very, very true. Big fan of quality in the share everything era. Not necessarily polished - raw is great - if it's thought provoking. I think that's the goal...get people to think and engage!
@natureofbeing YES, quality over quantity, any time! I absolutely agree! 😊
is sooo good to have days off, or weeks at times, consistency is good, oversaturation of 8 posts a day ,bad, lol
steeeem on and up
b.a.
exactly my thoughts!
oh yeah, I mean I tend to no post at least 2 days a week but do more sort of blasted ones on whatever is pissing me off that day...some do 2 or 3 very time intensive posts, once a week I do a time intensive post, really is also just enjoying it and vibing with cool people, there is enough drama and stuff to give u a headache, gotta chill and unplug
Agreed. I have edited my post, accordingly! 😊
It's crazy, though, when folks complain they aren't making any money here, and their page shows no posts for 2-3 weeks... LOL
yeahhhh that length of time I'd just announce it and say Vacation then hope when I came back still had followers lol
This is a fantastic post, thank you! I've opened half the links you shared and I'm about to geek out!
p.s. a great new community I'm really enjoying is Earth Nation, for those of you who are sustainability or future hope minded...
<3
I post articles daily, except on Sundays. But I I do skip a sometimes. I can't post an article that is below my standard just because I have to post something.
If I must post it, then it must be great.
Yes, true, quality-over-quantity is important! Thanks for the comment! 😊
Hy
Good tips there @thekittygirl. Posting regularly is important to gain momentum with your audience. Keep it up!
Thank you so much for that encouragement! 😊
My pleasure!
That's a great bookmark worthy post, especially for new Steemians. ✨

Will try joining one of these communities and the discord to learn more.
Thank you! I am glad you find this helpful! 😊
Your welcome
Thank you @thekittygirl for your helpful tips. I’m trying my best to post atleast twice a week. I know we need to devote some time into making our own posts so it’s definitely a working progress. 🙂
I am glad you find the tips helpful! I wish you much success on Steemit, and you are certainly off to a good start! 😊
Very informative post and really nice advice to help good hardworking authors to show thier talent and join some awesome communities.
thanks for sharing 👍
Thank you for your appreciation and lovely comment! 😊
Hello there haha. Nice to see you in your work. I did learn a lot in your post. Thanks for sharing it. Im having teoubkw with the curation trail of tpot. Dont know how it works. Hope I figure this out
Thanks again. Hope to hear from you on discord
Thanks for your comment! 😊
The curation trail of Tpot isn't fully functional yet; the leader is trying to get enough Steem Power accumulated/delegated to launch it fully, if I understand correctly.
Nice advice @thekittygirl
I'll do just that. Now I have a goal of one post per day like you :)
My post-a-day streak was shattered over the recent holidays. LOL! But some sort of regular schedule is a good thing, I think — whatever you think you can handle while maintaining QUALITY posts! 😊
Really useful thanks! Just joined discord so will check it out!
Thank you! Glad it helped! 😊
I am trying to contribute at least on post per day also. You are doing great ma'am.
@seyiodus.
Thank you! You are doing great, too! 😊
This is very valuable advice. You are a good friend to your followers!
Thank you! 😊
Excellent job...impressive post. Have a good day!
Thank you so much! 😊
Yay beautiful article! Dayum I think my post just upvoted you a lot. Not sure how that happened except ive been waiting for vote and the stupid $power is 2-day delay! Lmao!! Anyhoo, love the post and the Christian group invite has expired at the time of this post Kittykat 😝😂😂
Sometimes several people vote about the same time, but I appreciate your upvote regardless of the amount, as well as your comment! Thanks for your appreciation! 😊
Thanks, too, for the heads-up about the expired link. I'm not a member of that group to get a new one, but I will contact the server owner and get it fixed!
Oh I was wondering how that happened. Thank you for the info! Thank you for getting back to me.
