The simple answer is, not a lot. Yes it shows that the future president is embracing cryptocurrency and blockchain and is happy to use the technology. Now whether he is embracing it in the right way is another question still to be answered. There will be many accusations levelled at Trump again, about him trying to milk and monetize his status, just as he did in the past with his NFT collection. These people could well be right, we have yet to hear of any specific use case for the Solana launched $TRUMP coin, so it may just be another meme coin, albeit an 'official' one, timed for release to provide perfect profit.
I hope this stunt is just apart of Trumps bombastic bluster and he has real game changing ideas in mind when considering this sector. Personally this is not the part of crypto I want to see embraced by the future president. Meme coins are a dime a dozen and Trump already has countless coins himself! (albeit not endorsed by himself previously).
What I do hope to see is pro crypto appointments to his cabinet making clear and succinct regulation that businesses can clearly follow and be incentivized to stay doing business in the USA, making the country a crypto powerhouse. I want to see a US national Bitcoin/crypto reserve and I would love to also see solid grants and investments in all areas of tech, especially crypto and AI.
I believe Trump will do the right things, he just needs to get the bluster out of the way first.
