But now... what the heck is SOLA?

I don’t know if anyone of you has already heard of sola or uses it already. It is another social media platform based on blockchain with a coin called SOL. This platform has an app and this was basically the reason I decided to give it a try since I don’t spend too much time on the computer.

When I downloaded the app I was totally overstrained. It looked unfamiliar and confusing to me. So I just clicked an tipped around. It took a time until I fully understood how things work on this platform. To be honest I am not 100% sure but I think I know what is going on.
So to me this app is sort of like a mixture of Instagram, Twitter and Tinder without dating. A friend of mine said it is almost like Tumblr but I’ve never used that so I can’t acknowledge it.

Basically you create a “card” (a post). Might be a picture or just text. Whatever you want. Now this “card” is shown to other users randomly. They can decide whether the content is trash (then they skip) or whether they think it’s good content. Then they can sort of upvote it. This upvote doesn’t only give you coins (SOL) it also gives you action points (AP). You need these action points to create “cards” and to ‘upvote’ other “cards”.
When you skip a “card” that is shown to you, this post is not going to be spread any further from your device. If you upvote it, the post will be shown to random other users.

You can also follow other accounts and get a notification when they post a card.

I just downloaded the app yesterday so I can’t really give a long term review but as far as I tested it, it’s a lot of fun. I like that it’s very simple and not necessarily about writing tons of words. I think the platform might be very good thing for photographers and artists in general. But you can share anything there...
