Michael Owen launched a coin called the OWN coin. It is named after him and is going to benefit charities and soccer schools worldwide. That is admirable of him and hope it does very well for all involved.
When I first heard it I was thinking who in their right mind would name a coin after themselves. He must be a total "dipstick"If you are a celebrity and you are going to do good causes then that I can live with. You are using your fame and influence to help society in a modern way. I doubt if the coin is backed by any technology or benefits besides charity work.
What if you or me named a coin after ourselves not for charity but for our own greedy gains. That would have to be just taboo. You would have to have a huge head and a huge ego to even think of doing something so immoral. You would be the laughing stock of everyone overnight. No one would be that shallow and stupid surely. I am sure people have thought about it but don't have the balls or ignorance to do it. They would have to be a total fuck wit and a very shallow person. I can't see it happening but nothing shocks me any more. Time will tell if there are any shallow fuck wit's out there.
Launch a coin but call it something else, anything but using your name. Why didn't Justin use his own name instead of Tronix. He must have a big ego and heaps of confidence? The answer is simple it is a business and naming it a Justin coin would have made him the laughing stock of the crypto world. No one would have taken it seriously. Who had heard of Justin Son before they heard about Tronix? Very few is the answer and now he is a household name in the crypto world. Would it work now? Probably not because he wouldn't do it.
Who do you think would name a coin after themselves? I am talking celebrities with huge ego's so it would be fairly limited. Putin most likely, Trump can't as there is already a coin named after him but it isn't his. Kanye West would as his ego is bigger than most. There are probably a few more but even in celebrity world it would be limited dick heads.
This is just a thought as I jumped to conclusions on the Michael Owen coin and I was wrong and wish the OWN coin a great success generating fortunes for the charities on the list.
