Simple and straightforward points but many take them for granted. I remember a master investor teaching his office boys: 'buy low, sell high'. The find this so common place and unnecessary and yet with every trade in the first few months, they do the opposite until they when back to the trading room and rehearse this statement like kids in kindergarten.
