Justin Sun, the co-founder and CEO of the cryptocurrency project Tron has won himself a chance to have lunch with one of the most famous rich people of all time, Warren Buffet. This chance was earned by him as he bid the highest amount at the US $4.56 million at the annual eBay charity auction. He won this opportunity to build trust of cryptocurrency among Warren Buffet who is sceptical of it.
Background of Tron and Justin Sun
Tron is one of the most controversial cryptocurrencies out there. Tron being a major player in the market doesn’t help either. Tron TRX is often used to sports gambling and some other illegal activities. Justin Sun, on the other hand, is also the CEO of a Chinese social media platform called Peiwo, which deals with voice recognition. And of course, the platform that he runs has been controversial as well. Also, quite recently Sun was reprimanded by the community for announcing and then cancelling a Tesla giveaway online.
Also, Sun is known for his overenthusiastic attitude. He has many times blown things out of proportion for the purpose of promotion and has been heavily criticized for it.
Sun’s Ambition To Change Buffet’s Mind
Warren Buffet had once called a cryptocurrency a “gambling device” with “a lot of fraud” and also he went as far as saying that investing in crypto in not investing at all. Justin Sun will attempt to change the Buffet’s mind. Justin Sun said to Yahoo finance that he wants to bridge the gap between the traditional investor and the crypto community.
Changing Buffet’s mind will be a daunting task and doing it over lunch, for bringing such a change in mindset in a very short amount of time is almost impossible. If cryptocurrency needs to be sold to Buffet, I personally think Sun isn’t the best candidate to do so.
