I have not been in a long time so I can not give you an accurate opinion:

Not for nothing I started using steemit, but I think, personal opinion, that if users will use it badly (abusing the system of gain, creating bot and IT tools too pushed) may not emerge too much.
But in itself Steemit as a tool, if used to create content is great because of the fact that it has a good page rank (for SEO), if you join the fact that you could earn if you have support from the community and at the same time you could create a good reading path (ie your blog posts) that you can advise over time by creating conversations on the network (as on facebook or in other social networks to people interested in the topic you are dealing with)
