The cryptocurrency revolution in India would not have been possible without these startups that have stood strong without any support of the government while also facing their risky future amidst these recent news of banning cryptocurrencies in India. There are more than 15 cryptocurrency exchanges in India that deal in buying, selling or storing cryptocurrencies. Zebpay, launched in 2015 currently (in August 2018) has more than 1 million downloads on its android app while Unocoin with more than 30 employees now has a user base closer to 10 million.
In order to trade cryptocurrencies (that these exchanges offer as some only offer bitcoin) you need to complete registration process first which includes filling out a Know Your Customer (KYC) details as well as bank details. Some of these exchanges also offer to trade using debit/credit card.
With growing number of registrations as well as user base in these exchanges it is fair to say that these exchanges have come a long way even while their future is a huge question mark, looking at present times in India.
