On my personal Instagram I posted a picture about my first post in Steemit. I had some amazing feedback, including Estateforbitcoin's one. The fact that this blog deals with travel, plus the growing importance of cryptocurrencies in today's world, prompted me to do this interview 5 years after my last one. The interview was done with Ana Laweson, co-founder of Estateforbitcoin, a real estate agency with properties in Thailand, Mauritius and the Indonesian island of Bali. What makes Estateforbitcoin stand out is that only payments with cryptocurrencies are accepted. Enjoy the read!
Q: Who is behind Estateforbitcoin and why did you decide to start a project of this kind?
A: Estateforbitcoin company includes a team of young professionals: founders, property managers, financial consultants and property lawyers. The founders of estateforbitcoin are two girls: Ana Laweson and Lana Gates. We both have financial background. We discovered Bitcoin about 2 years ago. For a long time Lana was living in Thailand and Bali and I was living in Mauritius and Bali. We were involved in real estate market for a long time so we came to an idea to combine these two businesses.
Nowadays, cryptocurrencies gained huge popularity and the new generation of people appeared, who made their money by investing in Bitcoin. So such looking-forward people will look further where to invest their cryptocurrency. We are not a casual real estate agency because we see our target audience as smart and open-minded people who are aware of all the benefits of these revolutionary ideas. We would like to facilitate their lives by providing them with such services as buying, selling, leasing, property management of luxury estate.

Q: Why do you accept only bitcoin and ethereum, and not other types of currencies?
A: The following cryptocurrencies are the most credible among all the list of 740 others. What also made us choose BTC and ETH is their high liquidity on top world trading platforms. However, we foresee that we could accept other cryptocurrencies in the future.
Q: Why did you choose Thailand, Mauritius and Bali as starting places?
A: As we have mentioned above, me and Lana have lived in these 3 countries for quite a long time, developed contacts and acquired legal permit to carry out business over there.
A villa available for long-term leasing in Bali.
Q: How do you deal with the legal aspects of doing a transaction with bitcoin and how are you sure you are avoiding any scams (like this one here), due to the cryptocurrencies' privacy?
A: Obviously, this case is not the only one. One of our customers already experienced almost the same situation not long time ago. As far as you remember in mid April 2017 Bitcoin jumped up to 3000 USD per 1 BTC and the deal was signed right at that time. So the seller received less BTC in comparison to what he could have received today, when the price of BTC is about 2500 usd per 1 BTC. However, people who deal with BTC fully understand risks and often apply to financial consulting agencies. For example, we do provide our clients with such service like risk management and cryptocurrency market analysis in long and short terms.

Q: Are you going to expand into other markets? What do you believe are the markets that will be influenced the most by the use of cryptocurrencies?
A: Obviously, we are planning to expand our business to the other countries. We are open for cooperation with other real estate agencies all over the world.
From what we observe, this service is in demand in Asian region where there is the highest concentration of Bitcoins. However, in the future more and more people will get knowledge about it. The next country we would like to work with could be Middle East countries like the UAE.

Wow, another tool for the super rich.
Well, one day a service like this can be at disposal of whoever wants to buy or rent property!
Ok the first cars also belonged to the pioneers and upper class.
I like that analogy actually, it's a great example!
Great read, thank you so much for sharing, its very exciting to see crypto enter market after market, the amount of innovation and imagination set loose by the advent of vehicles like Bitcoin is stunning and exciting to be a part of. Much love!! :-)
You are welcome, and thanks for reading! It's great to see that a currency born on the Internet is expanding and taking over traditional currencies, we do agree on this =)
Maybe they should change their name to EstateForCoin and deal in silver, gold and platinum as well.
Well, you can write to them to suggest the idea. Or start the business yourself!
I'll wait for TEOTWAWKI , when brass will be a high commodity.
Fair enough. I had to Google that abbreviation so thanks for teaching me something!
