It happens every 7 to 10 days or so. Seems to be related. If you watch some altcoins they will start to go up by crazy amounts as it is likely the whales who dump to make the market panic are pumping those other coins. They slowly buy the other coins during the dump of BTC/ETH/LTC and other major ones.
I guess it is time for Bytecoin to jump up from 50 satoshis to 180 again! :) That is a fun one to do.
entire market up yesterday, now down today. Most coins in the top 100 is tethered together. It lets you know a large portion of funds in crypto is for investment purposes only vs actually using the currencies for their intended purposes,,
many of these coins have very different purposes, look at steem compared to ripple compared to siacoin. All of these coins have very different real world applications but we see a correlation when it comes to price increase vs decrease

Don't with bitcoin
It's going to hit $2100 before the fork.
Good advice, but I already transferred my BTC into ALT's. Now with the fall in prices, I am slowly buying BTC again because I need some to increase my ALT holdings. I tried to time the "bottom" before the reversal last time, and missed it, so this time I am making smaller buys on the way down, hoping the average will return a decent price.
BTC looks to be bounce finally - hopefully we can get back above $2400 and hold today.

Thanks for putting this craziness into perspective, this really helps newbies like myself. I think everyone is keen to buy at the bottom but as you said, perception is reality and it will be whoever talks LOUDEST in the media that will influence the price action in the short term. So where this bottom will be, no idea! But as you said, nothing fundamentally has changed...I think it's an important point at the end as well, make sure you don't overextend yourself in the crypto market, sleep is important too :). Keep it up!

I was scanning through the BTC market on Bittrex and there was nothing in the single digit loss all of Bittrex was around a 25% loss. I have been buying but dropping super ridiculous low buy orders, I hope it turns around soon though.

That's the question we're all asking and we don't have CNBC to speculate about it 24/7 so we have to draw our own conclusions. No idea. I've barely just got into this. My first BTC purchase hasn't even cleared and when it does I'll be down a few percentage points. But all I hoped to do with this small amount is buy a little Steem Power.

Thank you, Michael, for a calm and well-advised video. Perspective is needed during this correction. Yes, cryptocurrencies are still in their infancy and real life applications need development. The blockchain technology remains sound. Now might be a good time to buy, but don't invest more than you can afford to lose and beware of scams.

Why? As I have written in my blog I think that most of this year institutional money has been buying then selling just for these moments when their stock markets are beginning to wobble. So basically in order to try to push every last dollar into their game and out of silver/gold/cryptos! Another biggy why they do it is to try to control the crypto-market and the sentiment! Imagine how new investors are feeling now with their ETH purchases at almost 400.
Whether it be some upcoming news or just the market fluctuating as it does, lower prices would make it seem to be a good time to increase your position. That said, I plan to not invest too much more into the market as I am curious as to why the market is moving in this manner but not knowing why is making me cautious. It could possibly be the upcoming changes to Bitcoin, but it feels too early to be that. Any thoughts?
