Jeez that's a lot of ETH stolen. That being said, if you wanna look at the situation with a "cup half full" mentality, it is good this happened now instead of later. Basically this exploit/loophole would of been FAR worse if it happened a year from now, so it's kind of good it was exploited and fixed sooner then later as the losses later on could of been far worse (in both amount of ETH stolen, as well as fiat value lost).
Also this situation helped to show that there are white-hats out there that are working to help the people (in this case by using the exploit to steal money before the black-hats could, which they secure for the user and then put back into a fixed wallet to avoid any actual theft). I hope people understand how helpful those white-hats can be, and their selfless actions should not be ignored.
