But an investor with a longer time horizon like yourself should definitely continue to HODL to prevent locking in losses since the correction is already under way but buy more at these discounts if the funds are available.

The bitcoin, well as other cryptos too, price are determined by supply and demand. If the price is in higher rates and the holders convert their bitcoins, in huge amount, the price drastically decreased. This causes advantages to who converted their bitcoins and gives disadvantages to bitcoin holders who not convert their bitcoins before them.

Correct, this is about marketwide sentiment, not supply and demand on individual coins. On the bright side, when Bitcoin recovers (as it is now), should take other coins with it (as is happening now)
True, but very basic assessment - the cause behind supply and demand shifts is more relevant - in this case, sentiment.

usually, the crypto world is pushed by speculations and news. I wonder if there is another bad news causing Fud like the South Korea news of last week. anyways, crypto is here to stay and as such, time to buy and power up more steem

Market cap fell to 585 Billion. What is happening right now is people are panic selling. When they should buy more. All the South Korea Regulations is putting people under huge distress. Miners will get affected as a large number of miners are from South Korea and China.
